The Bunkasai festival is put on by the Japanese Honor Society (JNHS) clubs from both LGHS and Cupertino High School and celebrates Japanese culture as well as raises money for typhoon relief in the Philippines.

SafeRides plays a crucial role in the safety of LGHS students. Instead of ignoring the fact that some students abuse substances, SafeRides offers a pragmatic solution that serves to prevent drunk driving. The program has had to make some adaptations recently in order to operate under different conditions.

Spirit week starts on Monday! Every year, each class fights to outshine the others by dressing up for spirit days, participating in lunchtime games, and dominating at the spirit rallies. Here are the following dress up days, lunchtime games, and themes.
LGHS AP Biology and AP Environmental Science students experienced the opportunity of a lifetime when they went on a weekend-long field trip to Catalina Island. These photos reveal some of the brightest moments of the exciting trip.
On the Sept. 13 LGHS football game versus Menlo-Atherton, the LGHS cheer team, marching band, color guard, and dance team worked together to create a stellar halftime performance.
After a close score in the first half, Archbishop Mitty ultimately defeated Los Gatos on Sept. 6 at Foothill College. The season’s kickoff game ended with the the Monarchs eventually pulling a 23-14 victory over The Wildcats.
Over the next couple of months, most upperclassmen will be looking at colleges. Fortunately, many in-state and out-of-state colleges will be visiting LGHS soon.
The LGHS football team played the Archbishop Mitty team on Sept. 6 at Foothill College. It was the team’s season goal to beat Mitty. In preparation for the game the LGHS sports officers planned a pep rally, which took place that Friday at lunch.
