Staff Advisor – Doug Garrett
Editors-In-Chief –Hyuntae Byun, Sean Clark,
Web Editor-In-Chief – Cole Potter
Web Editors – Abbi Berry, Sophie Comeau, Camille Fowler, Violet Wallerstein

Abbigale Berry, known as Abbi, is a sophomore and smells like chlorine 90% of the time she is on campus. When she isn’t in the pool swimming laps or chucking balls at her friends, she’s usually anticipating how many hours of sleep she would get if she wasn’t constantly drowning by choice. Lover of coffee, you can often find her with a Philz Ginger Snap Iced Coffee, that is until the next trendy cafe pops up…
News Editor – Sophie Domengeaux, Sanna Hakkarainen, Rowyn van Miltenburg

Sophie Domengeaux is a senior at Los Gatos and one of El Gato’s News Editors. She enjoys pretending she’s an attorney with LG’s mock trial team and petting her three dogs. In her free time she watches Catfish, tries to deny the fact that she loves One Direction, and hopes that her dream of being on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon will one day come true.

Rowyn van Miltenburg is a senior and super excited to be returning for her second year on the El Gato staff as a News editor. As Rowyn was born in mid-April, she is an Aries and apparently tends to exhibit those qualities. Among other things, Rowyn has been described as sarcastic and is so psyched for the lack of sleep that comes with senior year!
National Editor – Neil Lugovoy
Editorial Editor – Dakota Rogers
Opinion Editors – Madeline Hagar, Lauren Sanders

Madeline Hagar is a senior and one of El Gato’s opinion editors this year, leaving her days as a sports editor behind. She takes pride in playing defense for the Los Gatos soccer team and spending hours perfecting her yoga poses. When she is not on the soccer field or in the yoga studio, she enjoys speaking Spanish and traveling, with the hopes that one day she will actually be able to put her survival skills from Lost and Survivor to the test.

Lauren Sanders is a sophomore at LGHS, and is enthusiastic to be in her first year on El Gato! She stands 5′ 2″ on a good day, and much to her chagrin, she is quite literally overlooked by almost everyone except for her beloved dog, Mali. She participates on the mock trial team at LGHS, as well as the water polo and swim team. You could most likely buy her friendship with avocados.
World Editors – Charlotte Pla, Jack Zukin

Charlotte Pla has not yet achieved her goal of being a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills, but is working on it. On a typical day, Charlotte will recite 20+ lines from any 30 Rock episode, hold her chihuahua for a minimum of an hour, and stop to get a “grande iced coffee, no sweetener, with room” at Starbucks. On a not-so-typical day, Charlotte might get 100% on her AP physics webassign, successfully do all the exercises in hot pilates class, or not stop for coffee. She laughs with a double chin, has really strong toenails, and hates feet. If you see her around, ask about her birthmark.

Jack is a man of many interests. On weekdays, he takes pleasure in doing homework for long periods of time, only taking breaks when his mother forces him to eat, and to check his long-term bond investments. His mother and his therapist tell him that if he invites a classmate over for a play date, he will get an extra scoop of ice cream for dessert. Joke’s on them. Jack can only digest one scoop of ice cream before bed or else the sugar high will keep him up past his bedtime.
Center Editor – Jessica Blough

Jessica Blough is the Center editor this year, as well as member of the El Gato princesses, a past culture editor, and Sean Clark’s protégé. She loves everything related to Iceland, peach iced tea, and El Gato. In her free time, she enjoys live music and riding horses at an international competition level. She is currently battling a developing coffee addiction, and she reread the entire Harry Potter series this summer.
Culture Editors – Lark Breen, Sarah Sullivan

Lark Breen is a junior, a Culture editor, and a reigning El Gato Princess. She is originally from Truckee, CA and feels most at home in the mountains. While she hates breakfast, smoke, chaos, and infinity, Lark is passionate about lunch, wood fires, El Gato, and perfectly placed endings. After a long, successful career as a travel journalist, she hopes to write a bestselling novel and then play a washed-up parent on a horrible children’s show.
Humor Editors – Olivia Hill, Danika Lyle

Olivia Hill is a junior and a Humor editor on El Gato. When she isn’t writing, she likes to closely follow her daily to-do lists, wear socks with flip flops, and watch tv shows that she’s seen before. Her three biggest fears are horses, dirty drains, and that we might be all alone in the universe hurtling through space into nothingness. She aspires to become a high school pastor and abolish all sexist dress codes.

Junior Danika Lyle is excited to return to the El Gato staff as a Humor Editor. When she isn’t found walking around Los Gatos in Crocs, take a closer look, she probably still is. Although being the poster child for the Croc brand takes front row in her life, she also sets aside time to convince the school that LGHS has a golf team, hike with her buddies, and learn the dance routines to her favorite Disney Channel movies. Do not get her started about child actresses.
People Editors – Jordan Evans, Kate Hinsche

Jordan Evans, a sophomore, enjoys stalking textpost accounts and planning out clever Instagram captions. She also likes to show up to marching band wearing T-shirts four sizes too small that are most likely from elementary school. Jordan binge-watches Netflix as a way to practice her goal-setting skills and effectively test her limits. Her fears include walking near shrubbery in the dark, the toaster, and whichever song she currently uses as an alarm.

Kate Hinsche is a senior at LGHS and the People editor of El Gato. Kate is what a feminist looks like. She’s a real cool cat, she does a whole lot of this and whole lot of that. Kate is passionate about Nalgene water bottles, Star Wars, Patagonia pullovers and fanny packs, Disney princesses, and glasses straps. She is concerned for her dog that keeps getting locked in the chicken coop at 12:30 am, but is excited for senior year and Model United Nations.
Sports Editors – Shreya Koushick, Elizabeth Monsef, Cole van Miltenburg

Shreya Koushik is a senior and a Sports editor on the El Gato staff. In her free time she enjoys running and scaring/impressing people with her swell driving skills. Her talents include parking her basic black jeep in compact car spots, always choosing losing sports teams, and bringing up the Midwest in every conversation.

Elizabeth Monsef is a junior at LGHS and a sports editor for El Gato News. She one of those kind of girls that will laugh at any, and every joke. She never ceases to add to her schedule which is usually already filled with volleyball, horseback riding, friends and family time, El Gato, and naturally homework. She is always enthusiastic to meet new people and loves to laugh until her stomach hurts. Bring her chocolate, peach tea, or flowers and you will make her day!
