Kayla Mitchell and Samantha Gruetter
Public Relations Manager & Editor-In-Chief
At the end of each year, it is important for everyone to look back on their achievements and accomplishments. Whether we hit the gym a few times to fulfill our fitness promises, began a “healthy” diet featuring Dubai chocolate bars which are 50% green, or limited ourselves to one episode of Love Island a day, recognizing our growth matters (if it’s our muscle or waistband). In honor of the new year and showcasing our biggest accomplishments, Kayla Mitchell and Sam Gruetter present our 2025 Eating Wrapped, where we were doing more unwrapping than wrapping.
Last year, we found our long-lost third member to make our perfect trio. Kayla, Sam, and the workers at Yogurtland. The notorious duo began the year with hopes of achieving a “premium membership” at a local gym; but another life-altering establishment quickly misdirected our energy and fuel. We are still researching the specifics of how this transpired. Together, we achieved such a level of familiarity at the local Yogurtland that the workers stopped looking up at the ring of the entrance bell when we charged in at 9:50 PM each night, validating ourselves for an award after our remarkably uneventful day. Now, usually, people realize when an addiction has become too unhealthy. For us, that moment should have been when the Common Application asked for extracurricular activities, and Sam listed “Yogurtland Connoisseur” before even considering her five-year volunteer job with the homeless. While that may not impress admissions officers, it is worth noting that being able to recall every Yogurtland flavor before even stepping through the door is a talent, and frankly, an underappreciated one.
Yogurtland was not the only franchise the dynamic duo terrorized through the 365 food-filled days of 2025; Kayla and Sam also took it international with the delicacy of Dubai chocolate. “Okay, you guys got a bar now and again. No big deal.” Think again. Amassing a total of 100 hours of commuting time, we ravaged every single establishment that had the faintest hint of the sweet pistachio filling and crunchy chocolate coating. From Dubai chocolate Labubu figurines to back-alley handoffs of the $50 bars, we left no stone unturned and no Dubai product unconsumed.
We didn’t limit our consumption habits to just the real world, however, we also brought them into the digital world, most specifically TikTok shop. With the infinite possibilities of exotic snacks at our fingertips, Sam and Kayla are on a first name basis with distributors around the world, remember when Jason Derulo said international love?
Last year, Kayla and Sam truly put the big in the big ‘25. Anytime a new delicacy graces the presence of Kayla or Sam’s social media feeds, establishments brace themselves for the immediate presence of a beat-up Honda Fit pulling into the parking lot. Our only resolution for 2026? Continue expanding our culinary palates.
