On Oct. 10, a fatal explosion at the Accurate Energetic Systems (AES) in Tennessee killed 16 people, leaving no survivors. AES is a manufacturing plant for explosives, supplying the military with a variety of devices. The detonation of the plant registered as a 1.6 magnitude earthquake, triggering further explosions nearby. Investigators are still in search of what prompted the blast and are actively working to identify each victim using rapid DNA tests in the facility. Hickman County, the location of AES, endured great devastation, coming as a shock to the small town. The citizens of the county and families of the victims are still processing the tragedy, preparing for the long road of recovery and rebuilding.
