The public received the announcement of the 2025 Grammy nominations with mixed reactions. Among those nominated for Record of the Year were Beyonce – Texas Hold ‘Em, Billie Eilish – Birds of a Feather, Chappell Roan – Good Luck, Babe!, Charli XCX – 360, Kendrick Lamar – Not Like Us, Sabrina Carpenter – Espresso, and Taylor Swift Featuring Post Malone – Fortnight.

Beyonce leads with 11 nominations, which makes her the most nominated artist of the 2025 Grammys, beating her 2009 record of 9 Grammy nominations. While many people commend Beyonce for the path she continues to blaze when it comes to her impressive 99 total career Grammy nominations, many others complain that her music was lacking the entire year and express their confusion over the 2025 Grammy nominations.

Among those awarded multiple nominations were artists Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Charlie XCX, who each received seven nominations in the 2025 upcoming Grammys. In addition, Taylor Swift, Chappel Roam, and Sabrina Carpenter each received six Grammy nominations. Newer artists, such as Benson Boone and Teddy Swims, also received recognition for their work and the commendable impact they have made on the music industry and the public. Both Boone and Swims are among the nominees for the Best New Artist category.

Some artists, such as country singer Zach Bryan, pop singer the Weeknd, and Frank Ocean, chose to withdraw their work from being considered for Grammy recognition. These artists pointed out the competitive nature of the Grammys, choosing not to participate in the Grammy nominations because of how the Grammy pits artists against each other.

Within the broader categories, particularly Album of the Year, the Grammy nominations went to André 3000 – New Blue Sun, Beyoncé – Cowboy Carter, Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft, Chappell Roan – The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, Charli XCX – Brat, Jacob Collier – Djesse Vol. 4, Sabrina Carpenter – Short n’ Sweet, and Taylor Swift – The Tortured Poets Department. Additionally, the Song of the Year Grammy nominations went to Shaboozey – A Bar Song (Tipsy), Billie Eilish – Birds of a Feather, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars – Die With a Smile, Taylor Swift – Fortnight [ft. Post Malone], Chappell Roan – Good Luck, Babe!, Kendrick Lamar – Not Like Us, Sabrina Carpenter -Please Please Please, and Beyoncé – Texas Hold ‘Em.

Many people eagerly await the results of the Grammys, which will take place on the first Sunday of February. Although there is some controversy surrounding the Grammy’s competitive nature between music artists, it is also widely recognized for bringing artists together to be recognized for their stellar contributions to the music industry and celebrated for their music. With its beginnings of 1959, the Grammy Awards ceremony lives on through its 67th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 2.
