ATTENTION LOS GATOS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS! Locate your class t-shirt, dust off your face paint, and whip out that Wildcat spirit because April is just around the corner! That’s right folks, five days of games, fun, and absolutely zero accusations of pep rally nepotism await us! Without further ado, here are your 2023 Spring Spirit Week themes:
Monday – Beige Day:
The options are endless, just make sure your outfit is completely beige, buff, sand, oatmeal, putty, wheat, fawn, pale brown, taupe, khaki, biscuit, off-white, tan, dark cream, or ochre!
Tuesday – Anything but a Phone Day:
On Tuesday, unplug from technology, and leave your phone at home! Instead, opt for an alternative, like a carrier pigeon or telegraph machine. Maybe revive the pony express or drop a message in a bottle in the LG creek. You can even arrange rocks on the front lawn to send signals to passing planes. The choice is yours!
Wednesday – Prehistoric Day:
Freshmen are the Paleozoic Era (542 to 250 million years ago)! Please dress as your favorite single-celled organism or water-dwelling crustacean.
Sophomores, dress as the Triassic Period (250 to 200 million years ago). If Temnospondyls or Archosaurs don’t tickle your fancy, you can also dress as Pangea.
Juniors, you are the Jurassic Period (200 to 145 million years ago). Acceptable dinosaurs include the Brontosaurus and Stegosaurus. Contrary to popular belief, the Tyrannosaurus Rex did not live until the late Cretaceous Period, so please leave your inflatable t-rex costume at home to uphold historical accuracy.
Finally, Seniors are the Cretaceous Period (145 to 66 million years ago). Tyrannosaurs, Pterodactyls, and Velociraptors are all fair game. Dressing up as the asteroid is also welcome.
Thursday – Loyalists vs. Patriots:
For throwback Thursday, we return to the Revolutionary War! To support independence for the 13 Colonies, wear blue if possible. Wear red to attest your loyalty to the Mother Country. Please do not reenact the Boston Tea Party in the pool.
Friday – Class Color Day!
Freshman, we cannot let you forget your middle school roots, so please carry on the RJF memory by sporting green!
Sophomores, wear blue! This color still has absolutely nothing to do with LGHS, but at least you don’t have to wear green!
Juniors in orange! It’s so healthy to finally see ginger appreciation on campus. Roll Cats!
And, for our graduating Seniors, wear black!! Please show your solidarity by painting claw marks across your left eye and putting your hair in bubble braids. Hopefully, with enough spirit, we can win a tug-of-war this time.
