1) Los Gatos High definitely prepared me, since, especially for a public school in comparison to private schools around the nation, this school puts a heavy emphasis on learning and the quantity of the workload. This has not only prepared me for college academics, but for my own film projects that I produce. 2) I am usually at Chapman’s film school (Dodge College of Film and Media Arts) which is always popping and excitingly fast-paced! There is always a film being shot on the sound stages, production meetings taking place in classroom, people pounding on keys in the editing room, or even friends just talking in the building’s lobby. Around Chapman’s main campus is great as well, and decently lively during the week; however it’s pretty dead during the weekend. Around Chapman is great, too! I often go to Los Angeles, an hour drive away, for screenings, castings, film sets, and other events. Tons of beaches are also super close as well. And Orange County seems to be obsessed with malls, but I’m not one to shop until I drop on a regular basis. I have to save my money for movies. 3) The best thing about coming to Chapman for me is taking advantage of all the opportunities. Luckily coming here has immediately immersed me in the industry. I am constantly working on set, doing pre-production work for one of the three projects I am producing, in a casting session, reading screenwriter’s scripts, working as an assistant for a superior figure, writing coverage, and the list goes on and on. It is so much work and so much fun; I am so fortunate I get to take advantage of the opportunities here. And here is my face…. Tell the whole El Gato team to keep up the good work!
