@brynn.gibson : “I won’t lie, when I applied for El Gato as a freshman, I did not love writing. I was always the kind of person who would rather talk than put my thoughts down on paper. I hated essays, and I hated English class. Yet, I always felt that I have a drive for creativity, but could never find an outlet to express myself. The reasons I decided to join were questionable; probably a mix of my older sister’s influence on me as a former Editor-in-Chief and the promise that I could make fun of Mr. Garrett’s shoes. However, I kid you not - joining this class was the best decision I have ever made. Since then, I have grown to love writing and journalism. I am able to express myself and my opinions in ways I have never been able to. I have grown not only as a writer, but as a person. Beyond that, I feel confident in saying that this class has a connection that is unmatched by any other group in the entire school. I have never made 30 friends faster in my entire life. If it helps persuade you, we also have a Minecraft server. I promise that if you have even the slightest inclination to apply, you will not regret it.”
@georgiiakaufman : “I joined El Gato for three reasons. Two of those reasons being related to my joy of writing and communicating with others, but the main reason being how great the community was that surrounded the class. This class is more than just a team of extremely talented writers, artists, and comedians; this class is my family. No cap, this group of people from all over LGHS might just be the best support system I have ever encountered. Everything about this class is absolutely beautiful, and I don't know what I would do without my fellow El Gatans”.
Sasha Ryu: “I love El Gato because I'm the tallest person on staff. It's so nice to be able to put my valuables on top of cabinets without worrying about short little Alaina swiping it when my back is turned.”
@ethansandersss : “I joined El Gato because it has good snacks. Apply to El Gato so you can eat said good snacks. They are really good.”
