Four-time Grammy winner Phoebe Bridgers released her third studio album, Lost Weekend, on Aug. 14. Fans highly anticipated the release, as Bridgers’s last solo project, Punisher, came out in 2020. Additionally, Bridgers is also a part of the music group Boygenius, which has received widespread praise for their albums and won multiple Grammys. The group’s last record was released in 2023.

Bridgers’s new album heavily concentrates on struggles with grief and navigating relationships. It features calm instrumentals including the piano, violin, and guitar. The project’s first single, also titled Lost Weekend, is about Bridgers’ past. She elaborated in a Genius interview, “It’s about losing touch with the person who knows me best, and just feeling lost.”

Though Bridgers is notorious for maintaining a private life and staying offline, she shares new details about her life through her new album. In Lost Weekend, she states, “I’m supposed to be married, but I called it off.” The record comes soon after the loss of her father, harboring feelings of grief, including the song Never Going Back! which contains a voicemail from her.

The artist also features multiple artists on her new album. Her bandmembers from Boygenius, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, sing alongside her in Haunted. Additionally, her partner, Bo Burnham is featured on The Outside, Bobby, and Never Going Back!

She has hit new milestones, with this record being her first U.K solo number one album on the Billboard chart. The vocalist previously achieved this feat as a member of Boygenius, but never as a solo act.

In the beginning of May, she went on a surprise tour, announcing it by placing flyers, using local posts, and through word-of mouth. She scheduled stops in New Mexico, Mississippi, and other locations throughout the South and Midwest. During these shows, she debuted multiple unreleased tracks that would eventually arrive on Lost Weekend’s song list. Bridgers also held a show at Madison Square Garden (MSG) with one dollar tickets, where all the proceeds benefited the Community Justice Exchange. During the shows, venue employees told reporters for magazines they were not permitted to transcribe lyrics from the songs Bridgers plays, and if they violated this policy or the no-phone policy, they would be removed from the show.

She made the announcement about her tour at her show at MSG, hinting at The Lost Tour. She is playing at stops across North America, the U.K., and Europe, starting in fall 2026. All of these shows have a no-phone policy, with fans required to lock their phones in a Yondr pouch upon entry. No recording devices are allowed. Many of her shows are sold-out, or expected to be, with fans highly anticipating great performances. After years of Bridger’s working on various projects outside of large-scale tours, she will return for fans to hear her new hit album. The artist is entering a new chapter, hitting it off with a globally acclaimed album and sold-out shows.
