On Sept. 26, LGHS hosted its annual Unplugged Talent Show, an all-acoustic show in which students took part in various performances. The talent show showcased LG’s musical talent and brought together students, teachers, and families for an evening of fun and entertainment.

As the show started, darkness fell over the theater; the audience hummed with anticipation, and a single spotlight lit up the stage. Seniors Ryan Idemoto and Kiana Behnami entered the spotlight and began introducing the night’s acts. One by one, singers, dancers, poets, and musicians went on stage, each performance as mindblowing as the last.

Senior Ryan Lin, a passionate violin player, was among the many students who performed at the show. He and piano enthusiast Ishaan Allen played the song Thunderstruck by ACDC. Lin described how the song “[starts] off kind of classical…and then it goes all out.” He remarked that he wanted his performance to have theatrics and twists, which is why Lin and Allen chose the song they did. Lin has been playing violin for eight years and is currently a part of the LGHS chamber orchestra.

Junior Nicolas Deschaux-Beaume captivated the audience with his impressive act. He went on stage with a jazz band composed of LGHS students and sang two songs: Livin’ la Vica Loca by Ricky Martin and Sunday Morning by Maroon Five. Deschaux-Beaume is also in the LGHS choir. He found his passion for music thanks to his brother and grandpa. He remembered how, “[he] and [his] grandpa used to play jazz on his guitar every night”

Senior Janie Vidovich, president of the K-Pop Dance Club, delivered an unforgettable performance, showcasing her skills and passion for dance. Vidovich and other members of her club did a cover of Fatal Trouble by Enhypen. Vidovich explained her favorite part about being in the show: “Just being able to perform, and just show our love for K-pop to everybody, and just seeing everybody so happy to see us.”
