On Dec. 5, a 7.0 earthquake struck southern Oregon and the Northern California coast. The quake resulted in the issuing of a tsunami warning throughout Northern California that the county revoked a day later. The earthquake hit closest in Humboldt county, about 350 miles north of Los Gatos. Local officials report that there were no deaths in the aftermath of the quake; however, over 10,000 people are without power, and it left local businesses in shambles.
