A Turkish Airlines flight headed to Istanbul from Seattle made an emergency landing after the pilot died onboard. The plane initially took off on Oct. 8 at 7:02 PM. Ilcehin Pehlivan, the 59-year-old pilot, lost consciousness amidst the flight. After many unsuccessful reviving attempts, Pehlivan was declared dead, and the staff decided to make an emergency landing at Kennedy International Airport. The airline did not specify a cause of death but confirmed that Pehlivan recently had health checkups; the airline found no complications.
