At the 2024 Golden Globes, beloved celebrities once again graced the red carpet with fashionable suits, beautiful gowns, and unique accessories to complete their outfits. While some blended into the background, a few celebs’ designs stood out, breaking the traditional black-tie dress code. From my amateur fashion perspective, I curated a list of my favorite Golden Globes outfits. 

Many celebrities shined with simple, yet elegant styles. Brie Larson wore a stunning lilac Prada dress paired with Fred Leighton jewelry. I don’t usually see a lilac dress on the red carpet, yet the color perfectly matched Larson. Jennifer Lawrence sported a classy, flowy, black Dior gown. Although plain, the gown complimented her natural features. Actress Hailee Steinfeld showed up in a flattering pink satin Prada dress, paired with see-through black gloves, radiating timeless elegance. 

Hunter Schafer wore a controversial look that I personally loved. Prada styled Schafer in a flowing light pink dress, blowing in the wind as she walked the red carpet. While some critics compared this dress to plastic wrap, I think the outfit looked wonderful on Schafer, making her look ethereal. Kristen Wiig also stunned in a dramatic two-piece Giambattista Valli gown. The diamond-shaped pattern, along with the bow accessories on the dress, made Wiig’s outfit stand out on the carpet. 

In my opinion, the two best-dressed women of the night were Taylor Swift and Margot Robbie. Swift looked extraordinary in a metallic green floor-length Gucci dress accessorized with De Beers diamond earrings. After dominating the spotlight in 2023, Swift kicked off the new year strong with this iconic outfit. Continuing her trend of Barbie-themed outfits, Robbie crushed in a hot pink Armani dress inspired by the 1977 Superstar Barbie doll. I am only disappointed by the prospect that, eventually, she will no longer show up in Barbie-styled outfits. 

On the men’s side of fashion, there are fewer options, so I always appreciate when men dress up outside the plain black suit outfit. Both Lenny Kravitz and Coleman Domingo took a twist on the traditional black suit. Kravitz was one of the most fashionable and unique men of the night, wearing a black, backless Alexander McQueen suit and accessorizing with round sunglasses and silver jewelry. Domingo elevated the typical suit with his custom Louis Vuitton fit, featuring a high collar, pearl buttons, and a fashionable lapel pin. John Krasinski also stood out in his two-toned suit with a rich red, satin double-breasted suit jacket and burgundy suit pants. 

The most memorable men’s look of the night was Barry Keoghan. Keoghan dressed up in a red checkerboard-pattern suit. He elevated the outfit with an array of jewelry accessories, including a golden belt chain and a pearl necklace with a red gem in the middle. Overall, the ambitious men’s suits and elaborate gowns made the 2024 Golden Globes an amazing fashion event.
