As Adele once said, “divorce babe, divorce.” Love has definitely not been in the air recently, as celebrities announce divorces left and right, leaving their fans either elated or devastated. 

When it came to her marriage, singer-songwriter Ariana Grande really said, “Thank u, next.” In late July, fans speculated that Grande and her husband, Dalton Gomez, had separated and planned to divorce after they spotted her at Wimbledon without her wedding ring. This revelation came after she deleted all her posts with him on Instagram, and he deactivated his account. According to an insider, Gomez was uncomfortable with Grande bringing security with her and had problems with her filming Wicked in England. Now that their relationship has ended, they are reportedly still very close friends and supportive of each other. 

Days after news of the divorce broke, rumors spread of Grande dating her co-star and former Spongebob Squarepants Musical alum Ethan Slater. This was a shock as Slater and his wife, Lily Jay, recently welcomed their first child and celebrated their tenth anniversary. Multiple sources claiming to be close to these estranged couples have different stories. Although no one knows when Slater and Jay separated, Jay stated, “[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl…My family is just collateral damage.” The internet slammed Grande as a homewrecker while she and her team remained silent. 

  Britney Spears’ hit song, Toxic, sums up the fallout between her and her estranged husband, Sam Asghari. The couple separated in early August after 14 months of marriage. Asghari stood by Spears while she battled her family over her conservatorship, saying, “[Spears] was in prison, where her father tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see, and uses her as a money-making machine,” adding, “now you’re gonna put her under a microscope and tell her story? No. That’s also disgusting, so don’t do that.” However, Asghari filed for divorce, requesting financial support from her and to have her pay for his divorce lawyers, all while blocking her from receiving any money from him. He claims she cheated and their relationship was toxic, while Spears echoed these same claims about him. 

Following these two fallouts, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner recently announced their separation, with Jonas filing for divorce on Sep. 6. He claims he knew their relationship was over after he caught her saying something on their Ring doorbell camera. Both Turner and Jonas released a joint statement following the news, saying their decision to end their marriage was amicable. To add sparks to the fire, sources close to Jonas say their marriage went through more downs than ups lately, with Jonas being more of a family man, while Turner was allegedly out partying with her friends almost every night.
