For the past four months, perpetrators in Iran have hospitalized over a thousand Iranian schoolgirls as a result of mild poisonings. The Iranian government is currently investigating the mysterious respiratory issues among schoolgirls from 16 Iranian provinces. Investigators surmise that extremist Islamic groups are behind the attacks, targeting the girls because of their pursuit of an education. The protests in Tehran regarding the incident quickly turned into anti-government demonstrations. The government is still looking into the culprits of the poisonings.
