In February, Los Gatos plans to welcome a variety of new shops to downtown, in the hopes that they will answer your calls for something fresh and exciting. A town of tradition and progress, Los Gatos expects these new businesses will uphold and bond these two values. Stay on the lookout for these new openings.
Buchanan’s Boba: This tea shop features your average bubble tea for double the price! Critics may call it “mediocre,” but as we’ve seen, it’s not like the majority of high schoolers care anyway. The menu includes a selection of items you can find at any other tea shop, but with a catch. All boba pearls include a tiny engraving of Principal Kevin Buchanan’s face. How cute!
Panicacci’s Ice Cream Parlor: Yes, I will be opening my own shop. I thought it would look good on college applications. You may be asking, “what’s so special about Panicacci’s Ice Cream Parlor?” Nothing, but I did paint the entire interior with the blackest black in the world, so it feels like you are stepping into a void. Besides that, my business is entirely replaceable. Now hiring any high schoolers, but please, I beg of you, do not quit on the first day.
Rainbow Road: This rainbow-themed frozen yogurt shop boasts its vegan, non-fat, no sugar, and no gluten treats. Unlike any other frozen yogurt place, Rainbow Road caters to Los Gatos’s elderly population, serving only rainbow sherbet. The businesses of LG recognize that the people would like to minimize any social confrontation. For these reasons, robots entirely run Rainbow Road.
A Coffee Shop for Indie People: This coffee spot speaks directly to its customers. Decorated in vine plants and painted in sage green, A Coffee Shop for Indie People fosters an artsy, alternative environment. In order to enter, customers have to verify that at least one item of their outfit is thrifted. After ordering a coffee for 15 dollars, customers can browse the store’s collection of records or art pieces made out of resin while waiting. Feel free to stay awhile and journal your feelings. Remember that every Tuesday, there is a slam poetry open-mic night!
Mosh Bagel: Hold your hats, Posh Bagel! Constantly blasting rock music, Mosh Bagel is always lively. Knowing how much you all love to jump up and down, Mosh Bagel has a giant mosh pit in the middle store, which, unfortunately, can be hard to navigate around. Mosh Bagel does not serve your typical bagels; the owners decided to eliminate the hole in the bagels, creating no-hole bagels. Of course, Mosh Bagel also serves boba tea because the people cannot get enough.
