Sister André, known to be the world’s oldest person at 118 years old, died on Jan 17. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her nursing home in France. The French nun lived through two world wars and survived COVID-19 last year at 117 with no complications. When interviewed on her 118th birthday, she told reporters, “Work kept me alive.” Sister André also recommended red wine and dark chocolate for a long life; she was a gourmet who asked for foie gras and roasted capon for her birthday last year.
