Billionaire Elon Musk’s medical device company, Neuralink, is under federal investigation for reportedly testing on animals. The company’s goal is to create a brain chip that may help disabled patients, with a focus on aiding neurological victims with illnesses like Parkinson’s disease or epilepsy. However, Neuralink is currently defending itself against reports of the abuse of macaque monkeys; specifically against a lawsuit over their product BioGlue, which was often used during their experiments. This “unapproved substance” is said to have caused irreparable damage to the monkey’s brains and caused serious psychological disorders in the form of gruesome self-harm and anxiety.
