Former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson released his debut solo album Walls on Jan. 31. The collection, which took four years to create, peeks into Tomlinson’s mind, sharing some of his deeper emotions, including the grief that he felt when losing his 18-year-old sister Félicité and his mother Johannah. Tomlinson’s album contains something for everyone, with statement pieces like Kill My Mind, along with soft love ballads such as Perfect Now. Walls, the cover track, was influenced by Oasis and Arctic Monkeys, Tomlinson’s favorite artists. With melodies on tracks like Defenseless and Don’t Let It Break Your Heart, Tomlinson proves he has the same skills and charm that the rest of his bandmates possess, earning him loyal fans.
