With spring just a few weeks away and fresh inventory hitting the shelves, it is time to catch up on the approaching trends and shift our wardrobes.

This spring, say goodbye to flowy pants; it is all about khaki. Style this neutral hue in sandals, rompers, dresses, skirts or shorts. Use this beige tone as a platform to accentuate colorful tops and accessories.

When it comes to dresses, picture layers of fabrics and ruffles. For an extra flirty touch, add ruffles to denim hemlines, sleeves and socks. This playful accessory adds sophistication to any outfit. Pair a ruffled skirt with Adidas sneakers for a cool vibe or with patterned ballet flats for a chic look. In addition to ruffles, ruching is back in style, particularly with dresses and rompers.

Flowy dresses will be reappearing again this spring, in silk floral patterns and maxi lengths. For simple sophistication, add a kimono. This simple yet elegant shawl will instantly upgrade any outfit. Pair a kimono with denim pants and a t- shirt, a simple skirt and flowy top, or even with leggings. Floral and embellished kimonos will be extremely popular amongst the stores.

Nothing makes a bigger statement than geometric shapes. Embrace these creative patterns on shirts, dresses, shawls, and shorts. If you are feeling extra daring, sport multiple patterns in complementing colors. Stripes, another popular pattern off of the runway, add a playful touch to any outfit. Pair a colorful silk button down with a white denim skirt or embroidered jeans for an extra trendy flair.

The bohemian style is back, but with a modern twist. Forget those flower crowns and Coachella dresses, 2017’s boho chic is earthy and rustic. Think neutral tones, knit dresses, gold accessories, and leather sandals.

It would not be a new season without a new color pallet. This spring focus on bright colors such as orange and yellow, subtle colors such as blush and nude and refreshing hues such as blue and green. However, Pantone’s color of the season is greenery. The spring color is a cross between a grassy green and crisp lemon, and it is sure to compliment any skin tone. Pantone describes greenery as a “yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring.” Over the next few weeks, retailers will be stocking their shelves with season’s must haves, so it is time to freshen up our wardrobes. Find your season’s go-to items, before it is too late.
