Approaching his 13th year in the cookie business, Antoine Tang launched his newest location in Los Gatos, with immediate success. In the heart of downtown, Antoine’s Cookie Shop has gained much attention from LG residents since its grand opening on Oct. 3, 2025.
Aside from this new location, Tang has two other shops in Palo Alto and San Mateo. Tang mentioned that he never “intended to open a cookie shop” and initially made cookies for his friends, who persuaded him to sell them online, which marked the beginning of his development into the cookie business. When asked why he chose Los Gatos as a location, Tang shared his appreciation for its strong sense of community, further noting, “It’s really important that we show the neighborhood that we’re a company worth supporting.” For him, consistency and reliability are what turn first-time customers into regulars.
Carrying a wide range of flavors, Antoine’s cookies cater to a variety of people and their cravings. With a selection including Peanut Buttercup, Toffee, Cookies n’ Cream, a classic Chocolate Chip, and more, Antoine’s audience spans many different preferences. Cookies n’ Cream, a fan favorite, is one of the first to sell out each day, despite not being one of Tang’s go-to choices. He explained that although he may not love the flavor, “So many customers asked, so I made the recipe, and then it became a big hit.” Tang created Honeycomb, another unique selection, during a baking competition, wanting to make an original flavor. The subtle sweetness of the honeycomb combined with the crunch of the cookie makes for an ideal dessert or after-school snack. The shop’s individuality is just one of many business strategies Tang uses to ensure success while satisfying customers.
After more than a decade of experience, Tang has learned that quality control is the toughest part of owning a business. “You don’t want people saying, ‘The cookies were good today.’ You want them to be good every day, ” Tang pointed out. He applies this mindset to his shops, ensuring that every batch has the same consistently outstanding taste, no matter which store it comes from. Tang views his work as solving problems for his customers. He said, “If somebody needs one cookie, we can sell them one. If somebody needs a hundred, we can make them a hundred.” When giving advice to young entrepreneurs, Tang emphasized responsibility and perseverance, encouraging them to be mindful of their workload and balance their time. Tang’s determination and community focus have made his shops thrive. With the Los Gatos opening, he hopes to build lasting connections and bring his signature cookies to an even wider consumer base.
Whether planning strategies, creating new flavors, or selling cookies, Tang applies his passion and determined attitude to every aspect of his business, allowing the shop to not only succeed but to expand. As Antoine’s approaches the end of its first month in its LG location, be sure to stop by and try a quick treat from the town’s newest baked goods business.
