The holiday season is upon us, prompting shops and restaurants around the country to unveil their holiday menus. Recently, beloved juice chain Pressed Juicery released their Chocolate Peppermint Sundae Freeze, launching a nationwide surge in Pressed customer traffic. With so many options to choose from, ordering at the popular juice parlor can be difficult for newcomers. To diffuse any purchase-related anxiety, I have compiled an extensive list of what Pressed products I recommend and advise against.
Greens 2 – Apple Lemon Kale Juice: Despite the hippie stereotypes surrounding green juices, Greens 2 features a tasteful blend of flavors unlikely to scare away solid food supremacists who don’t see the value of savory drinks. Combining kale—a green juice staple—and the summery apples and lemons establishes a refreshing taste profile without being too earthy like many other green beverages. A perfect introduction to the juice world, Greens 2 is a drink I would absolutely recommend to anyone.
Chocolate Peppermint Sundae Freeze: The famous Chocolate Peppermint Sundae Freeze recently took the internet by storm. You should count yourself lucky if you can get a hold of it, though, since many stores run out of their chocolate freeze base quickly. However, if you can find it in stock, I highly recommend trying this delightful sweet treat. A Pressed Freeze is a dairy-free cold dessert that possesses the consistency of an icy soft serve. With its classic holiday flavor combination and snowy texture, this freeze is perfect for those wishing to embrace the December spirit.
Acai Bowls: Without a doubt, acai bowls are by far my favorite item at Pressed Juicery. Unlike watery bowls from other vendors, Pressed’s acai base is thick enough to support toppings while still maintaining a creamy consistency. Newcomers should start with The Original Smoothie Bowl and then customize their order with the myriad of offered toppings and drizzles, including almond butter and agave.
Strawberry Basil Lemonade: Alas, all good things must come to an end. Unfortunately for Pressed Juicery, this end lies within their Strawberry Basil Lemonade. I had high hopes for the drink before taking the first sip. If you enjoy strawberry seeds floating freely in your drink along with a disappointing lack of balance among flavors, you will love this concoction. Those absolutely craving lemonade should check out the Mango Turmeric version of the beverage instead of the bottled, pink let-down.
The Pressed Juicery location in downtown Los Gatos stocks all of the above items and more. So, whether you’re looking to celebrate the holidays or grab a bowl for lunch, consider stopping by Pressed Juicery.
