On Jan. 12, singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of rock legend Elvis Presley, died at age 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Her mother, Priscilla Presley, confirmed the death on Instagram saying, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”
Continuing her father’s legacy, Presley released three rock albums in the 2000s and oversaw the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation, which benefits homeless families and those in need. Presley made her last public appearance at the Golden Globes, where she and her mother celebrated Austin Butler receiving the Best Actor award for his portrayal of her father in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis.
