On Nov. 22, former president Donald Trump met with white supremacist Nick Fuentes and rapper Kanye West at his Mar-a-Lago resort to eat dinner and converse with the pair. He immediately received backlash from a variety of prominent GOP members, including former Vice President Mike Pence. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell stated that “There is no room in the Republican Party for antisemitism or white supremacy.” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy also denounced Fuentes, who has repeatedly denied the Holocaust and self-identifies himself as an incel and Christian Nationalist. West’s appearance alongside Trump came soon after mass outrage about his antisemitic claims, mainly on the social media platform Twitter.
