If you’re a fan of the romantic comedy genre, the new Netflix show Nobody Wants This is a must watch. Starring popular actors Kristen Bell and Adam Brody as the romantic leads, the show features an exciting cast of characters, a compelling storyline, and extremely funny writing. When it was released this fall, the show became an instant hit, quickly rising to the number one spot on Netflix’s top 10 list. If you’re looking for a new watch on a weekend night, you should definitely check out this entertaining new show.

The storyline of the show centers on the relationship between Joanne, a career-focused and irreligious woman and Noah, a Jewish rabbi. When Noah and Joanne meet at a dinner party hosted by a mutual friend, the two immediately hit it off and the sparks begin to fly. However, Joanne, an outspoken woman who hosts a successful podcast about relationships and sex, is not the type of person that Noah or his family have ever envisioned for him. While Joanne and Noah both recognize that they make an unlikely pair, their connection is strong and they both are willing to fight for it. As the couple attempts to navigate their new relationship, they also must deal in varying degrees with their dubious and disapproving friends and families. Joanne’s sister and closest friend, Morgan, sees Noah as a totally unsuitable partner for Joanne and refuses to take their relationship seriously. On his side, Noah faces the disapproval of his Jewish community and of his fiercely overprotective mother who is absolutely determined to bring an end to her son’s relationship with Joanne and to see him reunited with his Jewish ex-girlfriend, Rebecca. The situation gets even more complicated for the couple when Noah gets the opportunity for a huge promotion to head rabbi of his temple, with the snag that he cannot be promoted if he continues his relationship with a woman who is not Jewish. The season ends with the couple trying to decide whether they can move forward – either Noah must give up his dream job or Joanne must learn to embrace his religion, marking a huge transformation from the person she has always been.

Since making its debut on Netflix, Nobody Wants This has dominated screens around the world. The show has earned a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 4.7 stars from IMDb. All credit for the entertaining storyline goes to writer Erin Foster, who took inspiration from her own real-life experiences between herself and her husband to write the show. The first season only consists of ten short episodes, but Netflix has already renewed the show for a second season. Fans are eagerly waiting for more drama and for Joanne and Noah’s love story to continue in 2025.
