Picture this. The bell rings on a cold Friday afternoon. Your week of misery has finally ended. As you are packing your backpack, your English teacher reminds you that you have an essay due on Sunday at midnight. You lightheartedly brush it off, thinking that the weekend is more than enough time to get a meaningless essay done. In this article, I will be giving you my exact guide on how to do an assignment the right way.
Don’t worry about it. After all, you have three days to do the assignment. Sit back and relax. It’s the weekend. Watch YouTube, play FIFA, and binge your favorite show on Netflix. However, make sure to tell yourself continually that you will get back to work on your essay after finishing the next episode.
It’s Saturday night and everybody in your house is asleep. You are munching on a bag of Doritos while watching a breakdown of the best FIFA head-to-head strategy. It suddenly dawns on you that you have less than 24 hours till your essay is due, and you don’t have a single word on the page. In a panic, you make a plan that you are definitely going to be following. Tomorrow, you will wake up and finish your essay. Relieved, you get back to fixing your hopeless FIFA team.
Sunday morning comes around and you wake up and look at the clock. It’s noon. You start overreacting. In a panic, you open up your laptop and lock in. There is nothing that can stop you from finishing and submitting your essay. However, right at that instant, you get a call from your friend. He invites you to the park to play basketball. All of your motivation instantly evaporates as you run to the park.
After playing basketball with friends, you go over to their house to play FIFA. As you say goodbye to your friend, you have a smile on your face. You have had a great weekend, and there is nothing that could possibly ruin it. You are going to go home and go to bed.
When you get home, you open your computer and see your essay document, empty. At this point, you are screwed. You have a little more than an hour to write five paragraphs. You pull out all the resources that you have to write your essay, including but not limited to Quizlet and Sparknotes. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Time keeps ticking and you are furiously typing at your computer. With eight minutes left, you manage to complete the essay and get it turned in on time. You sigh of relief, only to realize you forgot to cite your sources.
This is the ultimate way of getting schoolwork done. You get to enjoy most of your weekend and only spend an hour working. It is surely better than refining your work over three days and producing a better product–not to mention, the thrill and excitement of the entire process is unrivaled. Even though you may get a C-minus again, remember that the journey is more important than the destination. I hope you guys use my guide in your school life and see success.
