National/World

To support the foster care community in Santa Clara County, the HUB is a community center that aims to protect foster youth and help them transition into the next phases of their lives. Co-founder Dontae Lartigue, who grew up in foster care, explains that the center’s goal is to provide stability and meet the needs of young people so they can thrive in a positive environment. The center opened on Oct. 20, welcoming youth to access mental health services, legal aid, parenting classes, a tech lab, workspaces, and educational programs. The foster care system often makes it difficult to find stability and build genuine connections, so this way, there is a location that can improve the wellbeing of the County’s teens and young adults.
